Arthur the Ferret Expert / l'expert du furet is a Canadian brand of pet food marketed specifically for ferrets.

They are a mid-grade kibble, similar to foods like Zupreem. You could certainly do worse, but there are also better kibbles available.

They use some of the same marketing language that many ferret food brands use:

• Grain-free - sure, but what are the grains replaced with? Potatoes, a high glycemic starch. These are just as bad as grains when it comes to insulinoma
• 95% animal protein - 95% of the protein is animal-based. That does not mean that 95% of the food is animal-based

Cheap kibbles will use vegetable proteins as filler, like peas. So while 95% animal protein is definitely a good thing, the total percentage of animal-based ingredients in the food is still going to be very low compared to foods like Ziwipeak, where 95% of the entire food is from animals
