Nature's Variety produces quality pet foods, but most of their kibbles contain peas. Only the "Ultimate Protein" series is safe for ferrets.
I previously had this food as a "Freeze-dried raw" option. I've changed it to a treat, since they state that "it is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. This is a complementary food and should be fed along with a complete and balanced diet."
2 Protein Sources – Chicken and turkey.
High Quality Meat – the meat ingredients are mostly pure (meat, organs, fats, & oils).
Grain- and Starch-Free – Grains and starches are linked to insulinoma.
Pea-Free – Peas are linked to kidney and bladder stones.
