Ferret Medical Kit List Chart Only Digital Download PDF FILE Quick Educational Reference Guide

Health

This is a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD file of the Ferret Medical Kit List; a comprehensive list of items you should have stocked (and keep current) for the emergency /medical/ first aid kit (US based as some products may not be available or not under the same brand in other countries) for your pet ferrets. You never know when you may need something. Don't expect you will buy everything at once, but buy a few things each time you go to the store and in a few months, you will have it all and barely notice the expense. And boy, will be you relieved when something happens and you reference the chart - BAM - "I've got this!" Yeah, YOU got this - you don't have to run around town at midnight looking for Pedialyte or meat baby food!

I originally completed this emergency kit chart to be included in a shelter's adoption packets. Then I added the chart of symptoms to watch for. Sometimes, if you haven't experienced something, or your ferret has never behaved that way, you MAY not recognize it as a sign of illness. I have learned through the years that ANY change in a ferret's behavior means you need to start "ferreting" out what is wrong. It may not be medical related but often times it is so make sure you download BOTH CHARTS. Both the Emergency Chart and the Medical Kit List offer great information to have on hand and may save your baby's life one day.

Ferret Caregivers need to be prepared when trouble arises. This handy chart is ready for you to DOWNLOAD this pdf file and PRINT to hang off your pet's cage or keep in your Vet Record Notebook. Make sure to also download the Ferret Emergency Chart which is a review of common symptoms to watch for and outlays simple steps to take until you can get your pet to a qualified exotics veterinarian. The chart is written in layman's terms and not a bunch of technical jargon. It outlines procedures with as much information as possible and certainly can give you a starting point for helping your pet in an emergency.

Often in an emergency, we can become panicky, overwhelmed and forget the simplest of things. I know, I've been there! I've been sitting with a ferret bleeding out its mouth and scouring through vet books at midnight trying to find clues as so what to do!

Often emergencies happen at night since ferrets are crepuscular creatures (more active at dusk and dawn) or you find something is wrong right when you get home from work and the vet's office just closed. Even if there is an emergency clinic in your area, there may be a call for steps to be taken to stabilize your pet (such as in the instance of insulinoma seizures) to support your fuzzy friend until you can get to the vet.
